Paramus is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough’s population was 26,342, reflecting an increase of 605 banning nearly all retail and white-collar businesses from opening on Sundays. The only exceptions are gas stations, restaurants and grocery stores, and a limited number of other businesses. More than 63% of Bergen County voters rejected a referendum on the ballot in 1993 that would have repealed the county’s blue laws, though the Paramus restrictions would have remained in place.New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Paramus as its 21st best place to live in its 2013 rankings of the “Best Places To Live” in New Jersey. According to a recent NerdWallet survey, the sixth-best place to start a business in New Jersey is Paramus.
